New features Arrives

First thing first, lets us tell you about our working in last 1/2 months.

1) Migration of member zone to HTTPS (SSL):

HTTPS is the secure version of HTTP. This makes anyone impossible for (outsiders, Internet providers) to leak your privacy, page visits or snoop on data being sent.

Now-a-days almost every Internet users and warez site visitors prefer not to have their browsing habits exposed to third parties.

One way to prevent this from happening is using SSL encryption. This is now supported by all sites who cares the user privacy like us :) , and last year Google even went as far as encrypting all searches by default.

In Simple means, everyone who visits the site will now be sending data over a secure https connection. SSL encryption will prevent one’s boss, school, or ISP (Sorry, not possible with girlfriends/Wives) from monitoring what pages are visited, what data is transferred or sent from the site. However, it’s still possible to see that the SoftArchive domain was accessed, and how much time was spent there.

2) Image loading delays:

We received many complaints about this feature, not working fine. As a result, we temporary offload this feature for registered members.

Now this feature is loaded again with some new changes and it will not be as slow as you think. And if you don't like this feature - you can turn OFF "Image Loading delays" in "My profile". For more, read below.

And time to introduce NEW features we made in this week:

3) "My profile" page got new settings pages!

a) General:

- Number of latest community threads displayed in the sidebar.

We added new block with Q&A community's latest threads in the sidebar. This setting allow you to change the number of Q&A threads displayed in the sidebar (6 - Default).

- Disable tagcloud.

This feature will disable tagcloud which you can see when you visited main page of SA.

- Disable notifications.

This is old option just migrated from first page of "My profile" to "General". If checked - you will never receive any SoftArchive notifications via email, like "Comment Reply Notification" or "Private Message Notification" or for uploaders "Post Notification".

- Unsubscribe from site news and updates.

Same option like before, just migrated to "General". If checked - you will never receive SoftArchive News and updates, which we send 1-2 times per year. So don't worry we will not spam your mailbox every day or week :)

b) Browsing:

- Enable custom browsing options.

This is new feature which is requested by many members. So we added now. If checked it will expand into two options:
Posts per page - allow you to choose quantity of posts to display on pages with style type "list" (15 - Default)
FeedView Posts per page - allow you to choose quantity of posts to display on pages with style type "FeedView" (50 - Default)

- Disable images loading delays.

This feature will disable lazy loading of images if you don't like that. But when it work, page loading will be more faster. As we said before this feature is fully changed now and will not bugs you as seen before.

- Main page options (there settings available to change on main page also):

Display posts - list/covers
Sort posts by -time/likes

- Family Safety Filter.

This is adult filter which is working as before. If it's checked - adult content will not be displayed for you.
