Description
This is a CPD course (16 points) aimed at fitness and movement professionals to help you gain a better understanding of faulty postures and how to correct them. If you are a personal trainer, a Pilates, yoga or fitness instructor or teach modalities such as somatic movement, this course will provide the new skills required to help you help your client rebalance their body and move with ease.
Postural faults can lead to chronic pain, injury, and long-term structural changes in the body when left uncorrected. The earlier these imbalances are rectified, the better the health outcomes. This course is packed full of tips to help you easily observe and interpret your client's natural posture so that you can offer small adjustments to help them make big gains.
You will learn
• about posture in general and why alignment is so important
• how to read your clients' static and dynamic posture
• various assessment techniques, tools and how to efficiently record your findings
• identify dysfunctional movement and muscle imbalances
• faulty posture types such as upper/lower crossed syndrome, sway back, flat back and foot/knee alignment issues
• corrective strategies so that you can help your clients move in a more efficient and safe way
• how to develop tailored corrective exercise programs to improve clients' posture and movement patterns
• how to integrate your knowledge into your classes to help all your clients remain healthy well into the future.
The course consists of lectures and practical workshops, together with quizzes and assignments throughout to help consolidate learning. All manuals and resources are provided.
The demand for skilled professionals proficient in postural assessment is high and will enable you to work with other healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, putting you ahead of the competition.
