This is one of the most representative works of the early years of Joachim Kühn, a brilliant pianist who swam between jazz and rock. The playing of his co-stars is outstanding, including the superb bass playing of Jean-François Jenny-Clark, with whom he would play with for a long time.
Paris is indeed wonderful – especially when it gives a player like Joachim Kuhn the chance to really stretch out and find his voice! We might well say that the album is one of Kuhn's most adventurous – as it's got him working in a really free setting that takes full advantage of the BYG/Actuel recording conditions. Kuhn plays both piano and alto sax on the album – in a group with Georges Locatelli on guitar, Jean-Francois Jenny-Clark on bass, and Aldo Romano and Jacques Thollot on drums. The set features the shorter and beautifully introspective piano piece "It's Only For You" – plus the longer, freer, more "out" tracks "Love is Here Is There Everywhere" and "Paris Is Wonderful".
