The Prague Spring International Music Competition has been held since 1947 and is open to young musicians under the age of thirty. Each year, the competition features two categories. In addition to a cash prize, the winner also receives the opportunity to perform at the next edition of Prague Spring.The oboe category returned to the The Prague Spring Competition after a six-year hiatus. In the past, the most prestigious trophies have been won by prominent artistic figures such as Jan Adamus and Liběna Séquardtová; other laureates include Jana Brožková, Zbyněk Müller, Vladislav Borovka, and Jan Souček.
Laureate Fedor Osver (2003) graduated from the Gnesin State Music School in Moscow in the class of lecturer Denis Osver and has been studying at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in the class of Professor Alexei Utkin since 2021. He is a laureate of numerous international competitions, including the 12th Moscow Conservatory International Competition, the 17th International Tchaikovsky Competition, and the Swiss Muri Competition. He has collaborated with, among others, the Moscow Philharmonic Academic Symphony Orchestra and the Gnessin Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. He has also performed at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland.
