The genre of the piano miniature, seemingly perfected by Chopin, was further developed by Scriabin. The composer turned to the genre of the prelude throughout his artistic journey. In the opinion of researchers, Scriabin’s increased interest in composing these pieces can be explained by the fact that preluding is closely related to improvising, and the element of improvisation is one of the most important distinguishing features of Scriabin’s body of work. The combination of the improvisation aspect in the nature of presentation and the completeness of structure and form, which is characteristic of Scriabin’s works in general, is particularly clearly manifested in his preludes. They are characterized by psychologically deepened and individualized lyricism, an intense dramatic content, finely honed form, and pianistic sophistication in presentation.
