Cécile Seraud - XAOS (2023)

Xaos is the fruit of three years' work and some fine collaborations.

This second album tells the story of our time and its fractures: shards of loss, uncertainties, memories, promises, shards of joy. Shards of a fragmented world that still seems too disorientated to make sense of itself.

Xaos takes us on a journey into our future, into the vertigo of interstellar immensity and the possible breath of unreason that lurks in our souls, to the point of risking stripping them of their most beautiful emotions.

The title means 'chaos' in Greek, the infinity of space, the darkness, what is disordered and does not yet make sense. But its etymology reminds us that it is also the first state of a new world, the beginning and the emptiness, with all that this entails in terms of creative effervescence, because as Albert Camus said: "To create is also to give form to one's destiny".

Cécile Seraud is a 42 year old pianist and composer from Lorient in Brittany. She is a conservatory graduate, having studied classical guitar since the age of five. However, five years ago she decided to make an old dream come true…
