Music Paradise

If you like it hot & heavy, give this band a try. Produced by Mat Sinner, the guitars have his signature crunch, though the overall feel of this album is more melodic than Sinner or Primal Fear. This CD does utilize more power-metal influences than the debut did, however, so those who dislike their metal to have a very hard edge should think twice before picking this one up. But if hard-edged is what you like, you'll be glad to get your sticky little fingers on this power-rockin' puppy.

Sister Sin has come a long way since I first reviewed them back in 2003. Slowly but surely they have been building a solid fan base by sticking with a formula and making the fans come to them. Throughout the years one this has remained constant however, and that is the voice of lead-singer Liv, who continues to stake her claim as one of metal's premiere metal vocalists.

The excess of bands like Motley Crue, Ratt and Scorpions only measured up to the amount of power and volume that came from the speakers each time you spun one of their records. Why reminisce about the glory days of Rock n' Roll in the 1980s?

Here we have another excellent new band from Sweden. This time it is the female fronted Sister Sin, but the final result is the same--superb independent released material. The focal point is vocalist Liv, who like hard rock counterparts Doro and Nina C. Alice, has an exotic accented voice that has the capability to turn ferocious at any moment. But this album is so good, that the remaining male members must also get credit for the unrelenting guitar solos and flawless rhythm section. But I must admit that it is the vocals that keep capturing my attention; Liv could easily have replaced Doro in Warlock years ago.

Better Than Raw is the eighth studio album by German power metal band Helloween, released in 1998. The album spawned the singles"I Can" and "Hey Lord!". The album was recorded at Chateau du Pape and Crazy Cat studios in Hamburg and at Mi Sueno studio in Tenerife. It was produced and mixed by Tommy Hansen at Chateau du Pape and mastered by Ian Cooper at Metropolis, London.

The Dark Ride is the ninth studio album by the German power metal band Helloween, released in 2000. The album's style was quite different than Better Than Raw as it had much darker sound, very tuned down guitars, and gruffer vocals. The album was produced by renowned figures Roy Z and Charlie Bauerfeind. It is also the last studio album to feature guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch, both of whom were fired after completion of the supporting tour for the album. They went on to form the band Masterplan.

Rabbit Don't Come Easy is the tenth album by the German Power Metal/Speed Metal band Helloween. It is something of a return to the roots for the band. Rabbit Don't Come Easy combines many old classic Helloween elements with newer sounds and a modern production.

Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy is the eleventh studio album by the German power metal band Helloween, released on October 31, 2005.The musicians, Andi Deris (vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Markus Grosskopf (bass guitar), Sascha Gerstner (guitar) and new addition Dani Löble (drums, ex-Rawhead Rexx), see this recording in direct context with their 1987 and 1988 classics Keeper of the Seven Keys, Parts I and II.

7 Sinners is definitively one of the fastest and hardest albums in the Helloween's history and it bursts with vitality. That might partly be due to the versatility of the various songwriters within the band, who over time have become so homogenous, that the 13 songs formed a unity on their own in the studio, but it may also be due to the fact that the album was recorded completely without a click track, which, considering the extreme speed of the songs is an impressive feat.
